Autumn Parasite Planning in Fullstride (FEC First)
Set up a practical autumn worming workflow in Fullstride: record FEC, decide on deworming, and automatically handle follow-up timing.
As we move into autumn in Australia, it is a good time to check first, then treat only if needed.
A useful reference is WormCheck Australia’s autumn guide:
You can mirror that process in Fullstride with a simple scheduled workflow.
Fullstride workflow for Autumn FEC
1. Add the Autumn FEC event
In your horse profile, open Scheduled events and add:
Worming: Autumn FEC cycle
This creates the yearly trigger step.
2. Complete Autumn FEC and record results
When you complete Worming: Autumn FEC, you can backdate the completion if needed and record:
- choose the completion date
- enter the FEC count
- answer: Do you need to deworm?
For decision support, use:
3. If the answer is No
If deworming is not needed:
- Fullstride schedules the next Worming: Autumn FEC for 12 months later
4. If the answer is Yes
If deworming is needed:
- Fullstride creates Worming: Deworm
- when you complete it, Fullstride asks which wormer was used
- Fullstride then creates Worming: FECRT for 14 days later
- when FECRT is completed, Fullstride asks for the FEC count again
Why this helps
It keeps the process practical and clear:
- FEC results are captured in timeline context
- deworming is an informed decision, not an assumption
- wormer used is captured when treatment happens
- FECRT follow-up timing is handled for you
If you want, you can also add a separate spring check in Scheduled events to keep a consistent year-round parasite management rhythm.
